Siew Te Wong, thank you so much for getting us these detailed updates on these extremely important issues. Because of this site I have received so much information and I’m doing my best to let people know what kind of awful things are happening to the wildlife in Asia. You are such a wonderful and dedicated person and I’m so happy you are there for the sun bears and also other wildlife in distress. I’m sure that there a many others who feel the same way as I do.

However, things can get sometimes so overwhelming that one doesn’t have the energy to leave comments on every blog post. The more you know the more it gets to you, but I think it’s everybody’s responsibility to find out about these bad things.

I just wonder if there would be a way to boycott the countries who are responsible for decimating the Asian and African wildlife. I have already been practising this for some years and refuse to buy anything, which is made in China. Chinese government must know what is going on, but don’t seem to be that bothered about it…

Hi Pirjo,

Thank you for your support all these time following our stories and help us spread the words about the plights of the sun bears. Since sun bear is so little known to most people, any words send out will be significant to conserve the species.

It is indeed very frustration about the issue of China decimate a lot of wildlife resource across Asia (am not sure about Africa). There is no simple solution for this problem but if all of us take part to do what ever we can, join force, spread the words, I hope the situation will be improve. It is much east saying than saying doing, but we all have to try our best. The practice of refuse buying Chinese goods will work only a lot people do it. I hope some NGOs will start a campaign to make it happen. Currently I am involve with a Ursa Freedom Project that aims to end bear farming and the use of bear parts. It is just a the beginning stage but hope we can have success on this cause. Will keep you updated.

Thanks again.

Wong
